Getting game software
Before you create your TEN identity (soon to be legendary, no doubt), you gotta make some decisions. What games do you want to play?  Fast action? Strategy? Role playing? All of the above?  Once you've decided on your games, here's a list to tell you how to get your by-now-twitching fingers onto them.  Some games have both a retail and a shareware version so if you want a preview of the game before buying the retail CD-ROM, just install the shareware version, play away on TEN and then get the retail whenever you're ready.

All shareware versions playable on TEN are included on the TEN CD-ROM or they can be downloaded from
TEN's ftp site, from TEN's preferred download site, www.filefactory.com, or directly from the manufacturer.

TEN Enabler Files:

Many retail games on TEN need a special support file to make them playable on our network.  Follow these links to the TEN enabler files for the following games as well as installation instructions.

C&C : Red Alert

Want to play Red Alert (Windows 95 version) on TEN? Da, Comrade. First, get the full retail version of C&C: Red Alert installed on your computer and the CD in your CD-ROM drive. Next, download this self-extracting file and run it. After its downloaded,  double click on the file and it will prompt you to choose a directory to put the file in.  You need to make sure you place or extract RA95TEN.exe into the subdirectory with the rest of your Red Alert files, or else you'll be out in the gulag, playing nothing fast!

Then, when you JOIN or CREATE a Red Alert game, TEN will ask for the "executable file." Just navigate through the browse window to your C&C Red Alert subdirectory and choose RA95TEN.EXE. Dos vedanya, comrade, you're there!

Command & Conquer

You wanna play Command & Conquer on TEN? Who doesn't? First, you gotta have the full retail version of C&C installed and the CD in your drive. Second, you need to get this self-extracting file and run it (double-click on the file once it is downloaded), it will extract a file called CCTEN.EXE.  You need to make sure you place or extract CCTEN.EXE into the subdirectory with the rest of your Command & Conquer files, or else you are going to run into serious problems!

Then, when you JOIN or CREATE a Command & Conquer game, TEN will ask for the "executable file".  Just navigate through the browse window to your C&C subdirectory and choose CCTEN.EXE. Soldiers at the ready, sir!

Diablo

To play Diablo on TEN, download this file to your desktop and double-click it to launch the self-extractor. This will install the proper support files to your hard drive and automatically run the patch to update your Diablo game to version 1.02. (NOTE: If you installed Diablo to a directory other than C:\Diablo, you'll need to change the default destination directory.)

When you first JOIN or CREATE a Diablo game, TEN will ask you to locate the "executable file." Choose the DIABLO10.EXE file in your Diablo directory. The Butcher awaits!

QUAKE

This self-extracting file contains the QUAKETEN.EXE file you need to play QUAKE on TEN. (If you downloaded QUAKE shareware v1.06 from TEN, then you already have the QUAKETEN.EXE file. You do not need to download it again.)

First, you need the retail or shareware QUAKE version 1.06 installed on your hard drive. Then, grab this QTENZIP.EXE file and double-click it to extract the QUAKETEN.EXE file to your QUAKE directory. (NOTE: If you installed QUAKE to a directory other than C:/QUAKE, you'll need to change the default destination directory.)  When you JOIN or CREATE a QUAKE game, TEN will ask for the "executable file." Choose QUAKETEN.EXE, and get ready to make giblets!
