QUAKE by id SoftwareAn axe, a nailgun, a double-barrelled shotgun -- these are but a few tools in the bloody trade of QUAKE, the latest ultra-violent action game from Hell's own id Software. QUAKE is a true 3-D game that dunks players into an unbelievably realistic world of brutal, senseless, gratuitous, egregious, yet strangely compelling, horror. Rockets fly, heads divorce from torsos, and geysers of gore spew forth in celebration. It's like a frat party for the damned.

How to play QUAKE on TEN
To take part in the online carnage on TEN, you'll need either the shareware or full, unlocked version of QUAKE version 1.06 installed on your hard drive. If you don't yet have either, you can install the shareware version included below by downloading it to your hard drive, and then double-clicking on the QUAKE106.EXE file (you can find this in the directory you downloaded) to unzip its contents.

Download QUAKE shareware & QUAKETEN v1.06

If you already have QUAKE installed on your computer, there's no need to download a new version of the game. All you need to do is download the special QUAKETEN file (below) that allows you to play the game on TEN.

Download QUAKETEN.EXE

Place the QUAKETEN.EXE file in the directory where you installed the full or shareware version of Quake.

Now, sign on to TEN and select "QUAKE" from the TEN game menu. Double-click on one of the Arenas to slip through to the chaos. When you choose CREATE or JOIN for the first time, you'll be asked to locate the QUAKETEN.EXE file on your hard drive (it'll be in your Quake directory). When you find it, click on it and then click on "Open." Now you're ready to dish out the weal and woe.

(NOTE: Shareware and full version folks can play in the same game, as long as they stick to the levels in Episode One.)
