Be human, elf, dwarf or one of five other races; join a band of thieves or a mystic order of clerics (there is safety in numbers); take part in perilous quests; and converse over TEN with other players from near and far. The world is large, the story is deep, and your character is what you make of it.

Before jumping in the desert world of Athas, you'll need to download the AD&D DARK SUN: Crimson Sands v1.5 file (all 18MB worth) and install it on your hard drive. You can download the self-extracting file from the hyperlink below.

Once you've downloaded the complete 18MB file, find the DSO_V1_2.EXE file on your hard drive and double-click on it to install its contents on your hard drive. All the necessary files will be extracted to the DSO directory.

Once you think you're ready for action, sign on to TEN and double-click "AD&D DARK SUN" on the Game Selector screen. Click the hand that reads GO to enter the Outer Sanctum. Here's where a lot of AD&D DARK SUN: Crimson Sands players have gathered to talk about the juiciest Athas gossip. When you're ready, click ENTER to begin the character creation process. TEN will now ask you to locate the AD&D DARK SUN: Crimson Sands files. Find the MDARK.EXE file in your DARK SUN directory on your hard drive, click on it, select "Open," and your game will begin.
